Setup

Deal 20 cards to each player. Set 2 cards face-down in the centre as starter piles, and 2 face-down replacement piles beside them.

How to Play

1. Both players flip the 2 centre cards simultaneously — game begins!
2. Play cards from your hand onto either centre pile if they are one higher or lower (wraps: K→A→2).
3. No turns — play as fast as possible.
4. When both players are stuck, flip the replacement piles.

Speed is a frantic two-player race where both players play simultaneously, slapping cards onto two center piles in ascending or descending sequence. Reach for it when you want a fast, adrenaline-fueled head-to-head that lasts under two minutes a round.

Maybe skip it if: If you dislike real-time pressure or want a turn-based thinking game, the chaos and hand speed will frustrate you.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

• Forgetting that sequence wraps both ways, so you can play a King or a 2 onto an Ace.
• Each player flips their five replacement-pile cards at the same time only when both are stuck, not whenever one player feels jammed.

Strategy Tips

• Keep your eyes on both center piles at once rather than fixating on a single playable card.
• Play your higher-flexibility cards (those near the middle of the rank order) when you have a choice, holding extremes for when you need them.
