About KLASK

KLASK is a two-player dexterity game invented by Danish carpenter Mikkel Bertelsen. Each player holds a magnet under the wooden board to steer a striker on top, and tries to knock a small ball into the opponent's goal. Three white magnetic biscuits sit in the middle waiting to stick to a careless striker. Games are over in minutes, the rules fit on a beer mat, and it is closer to air hockey than to anything else in this catalogue.

Is KLASK Right for You?

Best for

KLASK is for two people who want a fast, physical game that anyone can pick up in a minute. It is a bar game at heart and works perfectly for a quick rematch between longer games, in a pub, or between a parent and child. Anyone who enjoys table football or air hockey will be at home instantly.

Maybe skip it if…

It is strictly two players, so it is no use for groups except as a knockout tournament. Players looking for any strategy beyond reflexes and positioning will find it thin.

How to Play KLASK

Setup

Place the three white biscuits on the marked spots in the middle of the board and put the ball in a corner to serve.

On Your Turn

  1. Both players play at once, steering their striker with the magnetic handle under the board.
  2. Score a point by putting the ball in the opponent's goal, or when two biscuits stick to the opponent's striker.
  3. You also score when the opponent's striker drops into their own goal, which is the klask, or when they lose control of their striker.

How to Win

The first player to six points wins the game.

💡 Strategy Tips

Guard your own goal with the edge of your striker, not the middle. Most points are lost to a striker that follows the ball into the hole.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Chasing the ball into your own goal. The klask, your striker falling into your own hole, gives your opponent a point and happens constantly to new players.
  • Charging through the biscuits. Two biscuits on your striker is a point to your opponent, so steer around them.
  • Gripping the handle too loosely. If your striker detaches from the magnet and you cannot recover it, that is a point against you.
  • Only attacking. A striker parked in front of your goal wins more points than a wild shot.

Advanced Strategy

  • Use the biscuits as weapons. Knocking a biscuit into your opponent's striker is as good as a shot on goal.
  • Bank shots off the walls are harder to defend than straight ones, because the opponent has to guess the angle.
  • Keep your striker between the ball and your goal when you serve. The first second after the serve decides many points.
  • Small movements beat big ones. A striker that stays controlled at low speed rarely loses to a klask.

Our Verdict

KLASK is the best two-player dexterity game we know, and it earns its place on a board game shelf despite looking like a pub toy. The biscuits are a brilliant addition that turn the middle of the board into a hazard. It will get played more than games that cost twice as much.
